Rubinrot (Ruby Red) – Book Review

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Title: Rubinrot (Ruby Red)

Year: 2011

Author : Kerstin Gier

Precious Stone Trilogy

Ruby Red is the first book in the Precious Stone Trilogy (or Ruby Red trilogy). It is the story of young Gwedolyn Sheppard who has inherited the time travelling gene in her family. Throughout the book, we see her journey into this new world of mystery, in which she does not only love and herself, but also her family. The whole book is written from her perspective, and her narration of the events is truly amazing. She is witty and funny and all of that shows in her narration of the events.  The whole plot is also very interesting and the book is quite well written. At the same time, I must admit that at times I find it a bit simplistic, and some of the major plot twists that were supposed to come out in the end, I had predicted from the first chapter. Still, I very much so enjoyed reading this series and proof of that is that I read all 3 books in less that 2 days. Therefore, if you want something quick and easy to read I definitely recommend this trilogy.
