Plot:

Seventeen year old Zanya has never lived a normal life. Her whole life she has been plagued with nightmares that felt all too real. Her only family in this life, is her only friend  Tara, who also lives in the secluded institution. When they are kidnapped from the institution they find out that the world is nothing like what they thought it would be.

Characters:

This book has so many interesting characters, all of whom have such unique abilities and qualities.

Zanya and Tara are very similar. Both of them are strong female characters that come from tough backgrounds. Their relationship is truly amazing, they are protective of eachother and loving, while at the same time allowing the other one space to be themselves. In all honestly, the “sisterly” relationship they have is a really nice aspect to this book and it is definitely very relatable.

As much as I want to talk about the other characters in the book, I do not want to spoil anyone. Since this book has magic and everyone has different roles and abilities, it would be very hard for me to talk about them without revealing details about that.

Overall: This is a very nice start to this book series. It sets a fairly solid foundation for the world that the book is going to take place in. It also has quite a lot of action, which is very enjoyable and although somethings are not explained it all kind of clicks in the end. If you are interested in Paranormal Fiction then this book might really appeal to you.
